The Scranton Civic Dance Centre is the official school of the Scranton Civic Ballet Company. We are dedicated to providing quality dance training within reach of the young dancer so that he or she can make their dreams a reality.

Our school makes every effort to instill in its students the discipline and knowledge needed to approach learning in a professional way. We believe our role is to guide the young dancer through the increasingly disciplined levels of dance in a friendly, caring atmosphere.

Creative energy, gracefulness, a heightened awareness of music and musicality as well as mastering a complex discipline are only some of the benefits our program offers.

The Civic Dance Centre’s annual performance of On Stage Please is held every May. This performance showcases our older students in tap, jazz and modern, our Lilliputians, and features our graduating seniors.

Each summer the Civic Dance Centre presents Musical Theatre Camp. This 3 week camp, held here, gives students ages 10+ the opportunity to learn about dance, acting voice, costumes, as well as stage and set design. At the end of camp, all students will participate in a full scale musical production for families and friends to attend.

All company members who audition receive at least 1 performing part in our annual Nutcracker performance.
