Catherine has been with the Civic Dance Centre since 2016. Prior to joining the staff, Catherine was trained locally since age 4 and has been teaching and choreographing for 18 years. She has taken master classes in tap, jazz and modern at Steps on Broadway and the Broadway Dance Center and master ballet classes with Catherine Kingsley of the Royal Ballet. She trained in contemporary dance with the Philadelphia Dance Company and with Kristin Degnan of Ballet Northeast while studying at Wilkes University.
Jazz & Lilliputian Staff
Erica has been with the Civic Dance Centre since 2017. Prior to joining the staff, Erica was trained locally since the age of 3 and has been teaching and choreographing for 11 years. She has taken master classes in jazz and modern at Steps on Broadway and the Broadway Dance Center and master ballet classes with Catherine Kingsley of the Royal Ballet. Erica attended the University of Scranton where she studied Psychology and was a part of the Scranton Dance Team for 3 years.
Jazz & Tap Staff
Mia began her formal dance education with Civic Dance Centre in 2013. After joining the Scranton Civic Ballet Company's Corps de Ballet, Mia was then promoted to Soloist, then Principal Dancer. Mia has performed many major classical roles over the years which include: Spanish Princess in Swan Lake, Golden Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Principal Dancer in Midnight Masquerade, Soloist in The Viennese Waltz, Kissing Doll, Snowflake, Flower, Spanish, Ribbon Candy, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Scranton Civic Ballet Company’s annual production of Helen Gaus' The Nutcracker. In the Summer of 2014 and 2015, Mia was accepted and attended the Performing Arts Institute of Wyoming Seminary’s annual 5 week summer intensive while receiving a full merit scholarship both summers.
Mia was a former Principal Dancer with the Wyoming Seminary Dance Company under the direction of Mrs. Bernardine Vojtko. While performing with the company, Mia was a guest performer with the Northeast Pennsylvania Philharmonic's production of Peter and the Wolf, debuting as the Duck.
