Synopsis

Scene I - The Ballroom of the Capulets

Romeo, son of Montague, arrives at the ball hosted by the Capulets and disguised in a mask. The festivities begin as Juliet, her friend’s, and the court join in a dance. Tybalt, son of Capulet, recognizes Romeo and sees his enchantment with Juliet. Tybalt dances with Juliet to distract her from Romeo, and a fight breaks out. The scene comes to a close as night falls and the guests depart. 

 

Scene II - Juliet’s Balcony

Unable to sleep, Juliet enters onto her balcony with Romeo on her mind. Suddenly, he appears in the garden. She comes down her balcony to dance with Romeo as they confess their love to each other.
